I ran Petskun Kauppa as a 3D-printing ecommerce business serving consumers and business customers. I have now closed the project.
The product problem
A physical product requires more than a good digital model. Design, production, product presentation and fulfilment all need to work together, including when a customer asks for something outside the standard catalogue.
My approach
I used the shop to develop and test products, connect digital designs with a printing workflow and handle customer demand through ecommerce. I sold catalogue products and fulfilled customised business orders, including items for MTV3 productions.
What this demonstrates
Running the shop gave me hands-on experience with manufacturing and customer service: scoping custom work, testing designs and managing the steps between an idea and a delivered item.
