Bio

Builder, advisor and hands-on technology lead.

My work has moved through early software, the web, mobile, immersive computing and AI. The constant has been simple: understand what is useful, build with it and help teams make better decisions.

Professional profile

Technical depth, product judgement and business context.

That mix is especially useful when new ideas still have to work inside budgets, teams, regulations and customer behaviour.

I like working near the edge of what is next, but I care just as much about whether the result can be delivered, maintained and trusted. That perspective has shaped my work in consulting, product delivery, agency leadership, innovation and speaking.

Alongside software development and technology strategy, I have helped teams work through MDR, GCP and EU AI Act questions. I have also worked across FMCG, sustainability, gaming and construction. That breadth helps turn new technology from impressive demo into a useful business tool.

Timeline

From home computers to AI, spatial computing and digital health.

The pattern has stayed the same: learn by building, then help others see what is useful.

Early to mid 1990s

Started with apps, games and the early web

Commodore 64, Amiga 500, MS-DOS, Windows and the first web services

I started building software on home computers and early PCs: Commodore 64, Amiga 500, MS-DOS and Windows. When the web arrived, that work moved into early websites and services, including a Finnish movie database built long before modern publishing tools made that easy.

  • Built software before the web became mainstream.
  • Moved from standalone software into early web products.
Early 2000s

Built social platforms and mobile business

Student community platform and Unique United

I created a social platform for Finnish college students years before Facebook became part of everyday life. At its peak it served more than 5,000 daily users with chat, profiles, image sharing and community features. Around the same time, I helped build the mobile department of the Finnish-Chinese startup Unique United.

  • Built a student community with real daily use.
  • Expanded from web software into mobile, product growth and team building.
Mid 2000s

Joined Nokia as a bridge between engineers, leadership and customers

Nokia

At Nokia I often worked between management, engineering and customers. The role combined customer dialogue, technical planning and product work across web, mobile, NFC and RFID-related solutions.

  • Connected business needs with engineering decisions.
  • Worked with mobile services and connected-device technologies.
Late 2000s

Started my own consultancy company

Independent consulting and software delivery

After Nokia I started my own consultancy business. The work soon moved toward pharma and wellbeing, where technology choices have to support quality, trust and domain understanding.

Early 2010s

Expanded into startups and funded innovation work

Syntax Error, Fishare and early Business Finland projects

I co-founded Syntax Error in mobile games and Fishare, a mobile and web service for fishermen. This was also when Business Finland-backed work became a more regular part of my projects.

  • Explored both entertainment and service products.
  • Built early experience in public innovation funding.
Mid 2010s

Co-founded Make Helsinki

Technology, design, UX and cross-industry product work

My consultancy company merged with a creative agency to form Make Helsinki. The work broadened from software delivery into technology, UI, UX and design. We worked in pharma and clinical-trial contexts, but also in FMCG, sustainability, gaming and construction. Around the same time, we started building early VR prototypes and working with IBM Watson AI.

  • Combined engineering with design and UX capability.
  • Worked across regulated and non-regulated industries.
Late 2010s

Deepened the pharma focus and frontier experimentation

Make Helsinki

Business Finland-funded work continued, the pharma focus grew stronger and VR, AR and new devices became part of the daily work. During this period I also co-authored a scientific article on measuring tremor with consumer-device accelerometers.

  • Balanced regulated health delivery with new interfaces and devices.
  • Brought scientific and clinical thinking into software work.
Early 2020s

Entered a more international phase through acquisition

Healthware

Make Helsinki was acquired by Healthware, which made the work more international and opened more room for AI, VR and other new platform projects. I led work on a VR-based digital therapeutic that moved onto a validated medical-device path, and I helped customers understand and adopt AI in practical ways.

  • Led a VR therapeutic where immersive design, clinical logic and regulated delivery had to work together.
  • Helped customers use AI responsibly and usefully.
Mid 2020s

Strengthened hands-on new platform work inside EVERSANA

Healthware acquisition by EVERSANA

When Healthware was acquired by EVERSANA, the international context grew again. The Finnish team became known for AI, spatial and new platform work, while I kept building hands-on capability through 3D-printing ecommerce, live AI concepts and independent products such as KisaPlay.

  • Kept advisory work connected to actual building.
  • Used side projects to stay close to new tools, platforms and customer behaviour.
Late 2020s and onward

Still researching, prototyping and testing what comes next

Hands-on exploration across AI, devices and future interfaces

The pattern has stayed the same: learn new technology by using it. Right now that means testing AI tools and models, trying AR glasses, building prototypes and separating what is useful today from what may matter later.

How I work

Principles behind the work.

These are the simple rules I come back to when technology choices, product direction and delivery pressure all need to line up.

  • Technology should solve a real problem, not just look advanced.
  • Good innovation balances ambition, usability, delivery risk and compliance.
  • Use the right tool, and skip the tool when it does not improve the outcome.
  • Clear communication between business, design and engineering is a serious advantage.
  • Hands-on experience is the best filter for hype.

Today

VP, Innovative Technologies at EVERSANA

Currently focused on AI, spatial computing and digital health inside life sciences.

I work where life sciences, innovation and product delivery meet, with a focus on turning ambitious ideas into credible products and clear next steps.

The same builder mindset carries into independent work: KisaPlay, UudetRaflat.fi, Uraluotsi and a real ecommerce business. Those projects keep the perspective grounded in delivery, product choices and customer value.

EVERSANA EVERSANA provides global services for the life sciences industry, including consulting, agency services, market access, distribution and 3PL.

Outside work

Family, forests, music, fishing, books and gadgets.

Outside work, life is family, forests, the sea, music, books, cooking and too many side projects.

Outside client work, the same curiosity shows up in family life, time outdoors, music, sports, reading and a steady stream of small experiments.

  • I live in Kirkkonummi, Finland, close to Helsinki, with my family, two kids and a dog.
  • I play instruments and sing, with enthusiasm still comfortably ahead of skill.
  • Fishing is a long-time favourite. I also like forests, the sea and mushroom picking when the season cooperates.
  • I play floorball and enjoy live music, both as a small participant and a much larger audience member.
  • I test new technology through small hobby projects because building is still the fastest way to learn.
  • Cooking, reading, home automation and gadget experiments are almost always competing for time.
